Got Something to Say? Got Something You Want to Change?
Say it through
Participants are supported in the workshop's evidence-based methods, drama therapy, experiential activities, trauma-informed practices, and client-centered approach.
In addition to talk therapy, the bottom-up approach is used to focus first on the somatic, where trauma may be stored in the body, making it easier to address emotions and thoughts.
Enhance your self-awareness by noticing how your body responds to stress and emotions, and try engaging in activities that help you manage them effectively. This empowers you to improve and heal.
Participants authentically and creatively share their lived experiences with an audience. The power of voice and speech moves humanity forward. The power of theatre and other expressive arts delivers a multisensory experience that touches the listener deeply. Voices are powerfully heard.
Say it compellingly and passionately, through improv, poetry, dance, music, rap, visual arts, ...
After each performance, facilitated discussions are held with both the audience and participants to process the experience, identify problems, and brainstorm solutions related to the issues highlighted in the ethnodrama. This process is crucial for empowering community members, social cohesion, and advocating for positive change.
Connect to your community.
Therapeutic Theatre for Healing and Social Change is a program (30 or 60 hours) designed for our community to take a serious and heartfelt look at the oppression and challenges that affect our lives daily, understand our roles in it, individually and collectively heal, work, play, learn, and build together for social change.
